Got this saw with four batteries. It cuts as well as my Stihl 290 farm boss. If you have the battery platform already, don’t hesitate to get this saw, even for a moment. Plenty of power and run time to do what most home owners need!

I replaced a Husky 440 Rancher with the Makita saw. Ive been tired of maintaining fuel and i already had some Makita tools and i have been well pleased with my decision so far. This saw doesn’t even check up to anything I’ve thrown at it yet. Much quieter and less vibration not to mention lighter. I love it.

Very easy to assemble. Much easier to use than a gas chainsaw. Brake bar needs to be unlocked to start saw – which is the opposite of how my gas chainsaw worked. Instructions say to remove chain lubrication oil after each use. I have used this a few times now and works great. Much quieter than my gas chainsaw.

I purchased this after borrowing a competitor’s cordless chainsaw from a co-worker. I was really impressed with the power and capabilities of his saw, but didn’t want to spend that much money on something that I would only use once a year for pruning my trees. I have had good experience with Makita cordless products in the past, so I took a chance and bought this one instead. I was NOT disappointed. The balance is good, the cuts are quick, and chain tightening is much easier with no tools required. The competitor’s saw required a tool (which was stored on-board) to keep the chain tight. This Makita makes it even easier. I’m more than happy with my decision to save about $200 and go with this one.
