I love reviews. This trimmer has over 6000. So I got one. I have two acres about 30 trees, outbuilding, garage, and coop. Takes about an hour to weed wack everything. Not once did it stop, slow down, or give in. It is a work horse. I do need a strap for it but only a preference for straighter lines. Not to heavy.

Super easy to set up and use just mix the included oil with fresh gas and fuel it up and prime and start. Only cons: The rotation of the head causes it to throw stuff at you to me it needs bigger shield so wear safety glasses and pants…etc The trimmer is kinda heavy but over all can’t go wrong with purchase of this trimmer over looking the two cons. **Also if you purchase in store make sure you check to make sure the air filter is there mine was missing the air filter**

Echo trimmers are by far the best in my opinion!! I bought the curved model GT-225 over 2yrs ago. I have 3acers and I can’t destroy this thing!! I’ve weed whacked all my property (all 3acers) with this beast numerous times!! It came as just 2 string capabilities then I bought at Home Depot a retrofit attachment that allowed 3 strings Doubled and bigger string, .095” ! PowerCare “Hybrid Universal Trimmer Head”. The motor did slow down some but it would tear up mustard weed like nothing!! I would run this trimmer at times 8hrs non stop except to refuel. Finally I wore out the new head, the holes where you insert the line got oversized and the string would fly out so I figured out a different way to load the string and it’s still going but it takes a couple more inches of line to load it. I pre cut the line and put it in a plastic bag that’s 2yrs old as well and carry it around while trimming & it only takes a minute to reload…simple! Then one day it seized up…the head wouldn’t turn but the motor was running? At this point I figured it was dead! Being mechanical inclined I took it all apart and found that the bearing at the motor head where the shaft and flex cable hook together that the bearing had seized up so I gave it a good dose of WD-40 and it freed it up!! I put it back together and went back trimming so I would squirt a shot of WD-40 in that part and stand it up on end so it could penetrate overnight each time before going out again!! I since bought a straight shaft to have available when and if this one ever dies!! I bought this GT-225 ECHO Trimmer thinking it was a disposable one, not so in fact I’ve never done anything to it, nothing but abuse it! No spark plug no air filter (never even cleaned it) never lubed the cable which is totally recommend! So ya if there were 6stars I would give it that for sure! Sincerely Weed whacking animal

Tough trimmer. Iv e got several hours on this machine and have never once had a problem. Only been tuned up once in the last 6 years. Only problem is it’s hard to warm up after a cold start. But not a real deal breaker compared to it’s powerful engine. I use oversized line on it less breakage longer run times and less expensive.
