The Makita 18V LXT Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless Portable Band Saw (XBP05R1B, tool only) delivers cordless metal cutting power in a compact size. The XBP05R1B is a sub-compact cutting solution designed for one-handed operation in tight spaces and overhead cutting applications.The XBP05R1B features a BL Brushless Motor that delivers 0-630 ft./min. variable blade speed for faster, more efficient cutting. It performs up to 160 cuts of ¾ in. EMT with one charged 18V LXT 2.0Ah Battery. Constant speed control automatically applied additional power to the motor to maintain speed under load during challenging jobs. Overload protection is designed to protect the motor from burnout during abnormally high torque situations.The XBP05R1B weighs just 7.3 lbs. (with battery, sold separately) with a more compact design at 14-3/4 in. long and an ergonomic shape that fits like a glove for reduced operator fatigue. It has a 2 in. x 2 in. cutting capacity. The XBP05R1B is also equipped with a built in L.E.D. light that illuminates the work area for more efficient work, as well as rubber bumpers and a removable hook.It meets ANSI blade guarding requirements for one-handed operation. Trigger switch with lock-off feature requires two actions to power-on the band saw. A catch bar helps eliminate accidental follow through during repetitive cutting.

Makita 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Sub-Compact Brushless Cordless Band Saw (Tool-Only) If your looking for a compact, portable, cordless band saw, the Makita 18-volt band saw is a well-made tool, and having a brushless motor makes this tool even better than previous designs because it is more power efficient.. This band saw has a 2-inch by 2-inch capacity, so while that is a bit on the small side, for the most part, whether your working on plumbing or electrical conduit lines and need to work in a tight space, this is the perfect tool to have. It was a built-in LED that shines on your work while your using it. This tool has a constant speed feature which applies more power to the blade as its cutting thru the material you are cutting, that way your cuts stay even. The trigger switch has a safety feature so it will not power on accidently when you are carrying it around. I really like using this tool, and it is something that when I need it, it is worth every penny in time saved over using a hack saw. Don’t forget to get a battery and charger if you don’t already have a Makita 18 volt battery.
