I’d read the reviews before going to the store and saw many people returned theirs because the 1/2″ rubber spindle drum wasn’t included in the box. I had the same experience, returned it and the next box was exactly the same. It turns out, if you read the instructions carefully, that for the 1/2″ sanding drum you just slide it on over the metal spindle itself, put on the washer and nut, and tighten it. You can stop returning the sander if you can’t find the 1/2″ sanding drum! I haven’t tried it out yet beyond making this discovery, but after wasting an hour returning it I thought I should share the knowledge. And Ridgid: revise the words on the box and your advertising to make this clear!

This is a great addition to any woodworking shop. The unit is lightweight but sturdy. I have a small shop so i use a rolling cart for tools like this. Set up is easy, dust collection is about average but definitely better than no dust collection at all. I have had it for few months and have used it on multiple projects. It will bring your projects to the next level by adding details that would normally take hours sanding by hand. If you are looking at spindle sanders I would put this at the top of your list just for its versatility alone.
