This is one of the best cordless hammer drills I own, light weight, very well made, fast hammering, have owned for about 8 months, use everyday, setting anchors, it is the first sds I grab, unless I am drilling or coring larger holes,

This thing eats through concrete and brick like a high school football player at an open buffet! I’ve used the 20v 5Ah battery and even used my 6Ah FlexVolt battery. I didn’t notice much of a difference and that to me means that what you are getting is a solid tool. Some companies sell things to you like, “buy it for this price, but if you REALLY want to see it shine you need this too.” Well I can tell you that is not the case with this drill. Its a beast! The only real flaw I could find with it is that Dewalt should make and include an interchangeable chuck with this that would allow you to remove the SDS chuck on the fly and add a standard chuck in its place so that you can use all your regular and triangle bits. I don’t like being pushed into buying additional products which in this case happens to be a Bosch chuck. Since the chuck isn’t a “pop out” if you will, it forces you to add an extra 4 inches or so onto the length of the tool when attached. This can be the difference between a good job and a messy job since you might have to slant your holes to start then then try and straighten them over the distance of the hole. I also purchased the dust collection attachment. It does what it says it does. Don’t let my love for Dewalt fool you. If it didn’t work I would tell you to move on but this is a great tool. I just love Dewalt because their stuff has always worked for me. Yes, its a bit pricey but its cordless and works with my current 20v and 60v FlexVolt lineup. I’m paying for convenience of not being tied to a cord with the same performance. That to me the cost is justified on each project. Less spent untangling or chasing a cord = higher safety and faster project completion times (and less walking :)). Pros: – Tool feels solid – Minimal vibration – Decent/expected noise during use – Powerful – Great on battery life – Can add on dust collection attachment Cons: – Requires a separate chuck to use standard bits (not included) – SDS to Standard chuck add-on adds approximately 3.5 to 4 inches to the length of the drill making it less useful if not useless in tight spaces

I needed to break through some concrete around a cast iron pipe. Worked like a charm with the bits I bought and made the job alot simpler then chipping away by hand.
