What a fantastic vacuum!!! DeWalt has done it again with superb engineering. This baby is replacing 3 other shop vacs. Two 2 1/2 gallon and a 5 gallon brand name. This DeWalt fits under my bench shelf where neither of my 2 1/2 gallon ones would. AND it is really powerful. They designed a closed storage compartment for attachments and good solid holders for the wands. There is an open compartment on the one end that will hold the entire hose and a cord winding bracket that is actually large enough to hold the entire cord. PLUS, they provided the capability to use a disposable dust bag for that really fine nasty dust so you can protect your lungs and it makes it so easy to remove and throw away. You can use vac without the dust bag also. The only thing I miss a little is the option for wheels but all the positives make up for that. Vacuum in good health my friend!

There is plenty to like about this vacuum. Number one (and two) is the size and shape. You can easily stack it or put it on a shelf. We’ve all lugged around CP30 shaped vacuums. Every time I use one, I‘m thinking, “Do I really want to lug that thing out?” This vacuum wasn’t out of the box 5 minutes when my wife grabbed it to vacuum out her car. She liked it so much she then vacuumed out my truck. The tool storage is handy and actually works. The 20 foot cord is also handy. You’d think with a 20 foot vacuum cord, that there wouldn’t be sufficient storage for it, but you’d be wrong. On day one with my new vacuum, I accidentally spilled some PVC glue into my kitchen sink that was about ¼ full of water. I didn’t want to send that glue down the drain, so I quickly sucked it up and tossed it outside. This thing feels very solid and it’s a Dewalt!

This vac is great for cleaning out my car or taking on small projects around the house or at my workshop. The best part to me is that everything is easily stored on the unit. The accessories all store in the lid and there is a hose storage area on the side. I’ll be taking this vac with on trips and it will for sure make for a convenient vac around the garage. Since it’s DeWalt, I’m confident in the durability and quality, and know it will last.

The DeWALT DXV04T is a nice sized portable vacuum mad of sturdy plastic and holds 4 gallons of material (wet or dry) and has a powerful 5 HP motor. It reminds me of a toolbox and the rectangular shape with fold down handle will be easy to store. Other nice design features are the double acting lid latches and the lid has a foam gasket to provide a good seal which helps provide great suction. The vacuum also includes locations to store the hose and accessories. The long super flexible hose can also be conveniently stored in the upper section. There are 2 sets of clips that hold the rigid pipes conveniently on the side of the tub which can provide extra reach when needed. The suction hose also has a latch on the end to prevent the hose from pulling out unintentionally. The vacuum can utilize a paper collection bag connected inside to provide higher filtration that the standard foam filter installed on the motor intake. The suction was great. I was also impressed on how quiet the vacuum was. I made some noise level measurement with an Android smartphone using the AudioTool v7.6. The phone was not calibrated against any standard but the relative numbers would still indicate differences. The measurements were taken 1 foot away from the center of the motor housing. One reading with the hose attached and the suction end in open air, the other reading with the end of the hose blanked off with the palm of my hand. The reading is in dB , higher numbers indicate higher sound pressure and the average frequency is also given. Something that impressed me is the DeWALT is quieter than the Dyson which has only been used a few times. I even repeated the measurement to ensure confidence. A negative comment is; The vacuum is a little heavy to hold for long periods. It does not include any casters to pull along as you move about. The manual page 6, step 2 says to “Attach Heavy-duty rubberized casters” but none are included and there is no indication of where they would be installed if they were in the box. I think the original design must have included casters but somewhere along the way they were dropped and the manual was not edited. I built a small plywood platform with wheels and use 1/8” elastic shock cord to provide easy fastening. !/4”elastic cord would work better but I didn’t have any. I would still recommend this product even given this oversight of casters,
