There’s nothing negative at all to say about these sockets except that it would be nice if they went up one more size to 22 mm (then one would fit my lug nuts). But I already have multiple 22mm impact sockets as well as one with a nylon sleeve so I can live w/o the 22mm. The holder these come with is very nice. It is much more than nice packaging and an afterthought. It is one you will want to actually keep and use. I have the same holder with other Milwaukee sets and I like that it has a wide base making it stable enough they stay upright well and do not easily tip over when you grab one. These are some very solid sockets and paired with a M18 impact wrench you are ready for knocking off those stubborn fasteners. The 6-point design is great and the markings are bold, tough (deeply stamped) and clear even for my aging eyes. These are the perfect mates to the M18 impact wrench one of which I keep in the back of my jeep and one of which I keep handy in my shop. You just cannot beat the quality of the Milwaukee sockets be it these or the non-impact ones. These are simply top shelf and you can’t go wrong with them. One thing that would make the set better is if it came with a ½ to 3/8 adapter since many impact wrenches are ½ drive as are mine. But I have adapters already so no biggie. It is just ironic that the web page says “Optimized for use with 1/2″ drive impact wrenches” which I suspect is simply a typo. In any event, I have 3 other sets of impact rates sockets some of them very good ones including a high quality set of metric swivel ones. Even those don’t match these for quality of the markings. These are easily my new favorites for deep well impact.

I’ve had multiple impact socket sets for a couple decades. Although I got by with them, they were kind of a pain I just put up with. Key features of this set include: 1. An undercut at the base to improve your grip to pull them off the tool. In addition to the undercut on the body, the red painted groove also aides with this. I’ve had cases with my old sets where I had to use a screwdriver to pry them off the tool. 2. The red painted groove also helps in finding the socket when the job is done. 3. The actual finish also aides in maintaining a grip. It has a satin finish verses the slippery super smooth finish of my other sets. 4. The socket size lettering is recessed into the housing, and then painted white. Should be extremely robust. I was surprised how precise the lettering is. 6. They use a cross-drilled hole for the detent retention. If you have a stubborn ball in the detent, you can use a punch to depress the ball for easy removal. 6. The overall appearance is impressive. I enjoy having tools that look sharp. I store my standard sockets on hanging brackets like this on, but those brackets are not near as robust as this one. This bracket actually has ball detents on the holders. I currently keep all my impact sockets in the drawer with the impact tools.
