This chainsaw is perfect for those that don’t want to deal with a traditional gas chainsaw and are already in the 18V system. It is very capable, although it does have a slower chain speed as you would expect with an 18v vs 40v or gas. I use this saw only with the 9ah, 6ah, and 3ah HP batteries so your experience may vary – battery selection makes a big difference with high draw tools like this. I will let pictures of accomplished jobs with this tool do the rest of the talking.

I bought this to get rid of seven ash trees on my sidewalk. It worked great removing all the branches but anything thick like the base of the tree it would slow down if the chain was used. My last two tree stumps I was trying to cut down and I think on my third chain it kept bogging down like it was pinched. So I put on a new chain and it buzzed right through those stumps like a hot knife in butter. This is a pretty good chainsaw but if ya push it too hard with a semi dull chain it will bog down and then stop, but don’t fret, the battery usually isn’t dead, just hot, so I kept 2 batteries with me at all times, not the little ones either, so when it stopped I would just swap batts and keep going this way it will use all the batt power and not overheat badly. I also love the fact you do not need any tools to adjust the chain or replace it, just turn the screw and knob and DONE. Also you need to remember to always clean the oil port for the chain due to it does build up with sawdust and can plug up, a Can of WD40 is good to clear that out after each use. Using two of my batteries the saw did last quite a bit while cutting. If you need to cut alot of big thick stuff then order at least another chain before starting. This Ryobi saw has just been added to my collection of Ryobi tools, no more gas or electric tools, this makes it soo much easier. I have a big pile of logs in my backyard right now from all the trees and they were all cut by my Ryobi.
