This works great. I had several shrubs in front of the house. Don’t ask me what the names of them are, but on some of them, parts of the shrub are smaller and cut well. On the parts that were slightly smaller than a pencil, it still cut but not well. I don’t think that’s a defect of the trimmer, I think it’s because I am asking it to do something it was not meant to do. My first time out I already cut an extension cord, so I need to learn to watch out for that, but thankfully the cord on the trimmer is short so idiots like me can’t accidentally cut them with said trimmer. This comes with a plastic sheath (shown) to house the blades when not in use. All in all, this is a great trimmer for use around the house (certainly not meant for a professional gardener or larger shrubs).

Blades are sharp and motor has ample power to cut through hedges of bushes with little effort. Branches over 3/8″ diameter were difficult so be sure to carry a hand pruner for those thicker areas. I prefer the corded over either gas or battery for two reasons. First, no carburetor maintenance or trips for gas. Second, it has ample power and no need to replace batteries down the line. With a common 100′ extension cord the range is pretty good. Considering the price, it pays for itself and then some if hiring a landscaper instead of DIY. I would expect it to last many years. Very happy with this purchase.
