I purchased this saw to replace my DeWalt 18V set. What a huge difference the 20v Max makes in power. Be sure to purchase 4 or 5 AH batteries with this tool as it will run down the smaller ones pretty quickly. I had been a professional remodeler for over 20 years, used a lot of recip saws, my favorite had always been my Milwakee…this one is quickly replacing it as a tool of choice. Being able to insert the blade sideways is a fantastic idea! Just be aware when the tool is brand new it might make a few strange noises and run a bit rough, mine smoothed out after a couple uses and now runs great!

I purchased this tool to replace the 18V Dewalt that finally gave up (in mid-cut) after 10 years and being dropped one too many times. I started migrating to the 20V system about 4 or 5 years ago so all I needed was the bare tool. We are doing repairs after being flooded by Imelda the storm, so needed it right away PROS: I is well balanced and comfortable to use. good speed control and range. The adjustable shoe is helpful, as is the 4 position blade mounting. It fit the old case nicely. It was on the shelf at the local Lowe’s. I got a veterans discount. It gets used for everything from pruning tree limbs(up to 8 “) to scraping up old vinyl flooring, and of course demolition. CONS: They forgot the LED illumination array!! Overall, a nice upgrade to a previously great tool.
