No jams so far with this system. Setting depth is straight forward and as the manual recommends, have a scrap set available to fine tune. Battery life in pneomenal and i have yet to change out the battery during a job

I decided to close in my hen house before the snow flies this winter. I used 1 11/2 inch and 5/8 inch brad nails and a 2 ah battery. I shot 700 1 1/2 nails and 400 plus 5/8 nails on one battery. The only thing I don’t like about it is the 5 nail count stop. Ryobi airstrike does the same thing. When theres 5 nails left the gun won’t fire again. In some instances that would be good. But I prefer emptying the mag before stopping. I dump the 5 and pop in another stick. Absolutely an amazing tool. Good job ridgid. Look close and you’ll see the star of this picture.

This RIDGID 18 Volt Lithium Ion brushless cordless 18 gauge 2-1/8 inch brad nailer is a handy tool for the home or shop. The best thing about this nailer is that you don’t need to have a small compressor on hand, just a freshly charged battery. This nailer is perfect for finish work like door or floor moldings. It is not light weight but is lighter than an air compressor operated pneumatic nail gun. I have a few 2 A/Hr. batteries and they don’t add much weight. This nail gun holds 105 18 gauge brad nails from 5/8 inch to 2 1/8 inches in length. The gun has a no-mar rubber tip to prevent marring softer woods. To Adjust for the nail length and hardness of the wood use the drive power knob on the top of the nailer. There is also a fine depth adjustment knob. The nailer can be set by a switch to single sequence actuation or contact actuation. I also like how easy it is to clear a jammed nail from the head, just lift the lever and the head opens to remove a jammed nail. I was surprised it did not come with a Ridgid 636181001 Belt Clip. Its handy to slip the nail gun in your belt instead of having to put it down especially if you are on a ladder. It even has a handy LED light built in. I am very pleased to add this versatile tool to my collection and it works with all the Ridgid 18 Volt batteries. Be sure to register your tool within 90 days to get the full lifetime warranty .

I can’t stress how nice it is to not have a coiled or straight air hose to deal with! This Ridgid 18 volt brad nailer is great for my needs in the shop. I’m not a commercial or even professional woodworker. I make or install much of my own trim around the house and I make some smaller furniture, valances, and other decor. Having a versatile brad nailer that isn’t tethered to an air comprrsssor has been wonderful (I imagine a professional would be even more impressed) and I can’t recommend this one enough. It has depth and pressure adjustments to dial in the appropriate amounts you need for your project and ergonomics are comfortable. Compatibility with my other 18 volt Ridgid batteries means I don’t have to buy new batteries, too. The see-through cartridge helps to know how many nails you have remaining which is a bonus. The only downsides I have experienced is the weight and light. I have been using my 6ah Octane battery (this isn’t an Ocatane tool so it doesn’t have to be an Octane battery) and the nailer can get a little heavy after extended use. For the light, simply pit, it doesn’t work. The light shines above the nail head so you can’t really see where it is when it’s dark. But let’s be honest.. who is installing trim or building cabinets in the dark anyway?

I was very impressed with the power of this cordless variety. I did not have any misfires or any nails that did not go in all the way. Most of the other reviews commented on how this was lightweight. I actually found it to be pretty heavy for a brad nailer. It was easily 3x the weight of my air compressor varieties. However, it does seem to be very well made and seems like it would last a long time. I used this nail gun with a 4AH 18 volt battery. It lasted an extremely long time. I long finished my baseboard project long before it ran out of power. I would have had to recharge my air compressor a few times in the same time period. The convenience of not using an air compressor is priceless. One difference between the cordless and one that uses an air compressor is that this tool has a slight delay after you squeeze the trigger to shoot a nail. That took some getting used to.
